This year I have tried to open my business up to more families. This meant asking for feedback when it comes to the types of sessions you enjoy. And not surprisingly, the results were mixed! So how do you know whether to book a Mini Session, or a regular Full Session? In this blog post I am sharing reasons why the much sought after MINI SESSIONS may be right for you.
Mini sessions are fast.
Typically between 15-20 minutes, the time goes by quickly. This fast paced session works best for families with children who are able to follow simple instructions and are content to be a part of the photographing experience. There isn't time to fuss. It is also an ideal option for very young children during the cooler weathered months - Christmas Tree Farm Minis for example.
Mini sessions serve a specific purpose.
There are special times every year that are beautiful to photograph - Mother's Day and Spring blossoms, Summer sunflowers, Autumn orchards, and Christmas tree farms, to name just a few I have offered in the past. Due to the nature of the session, minis are shot in a single location. If there is a specific backdrop that you absolutely love, finding a mini session that falls in line with that location will give you exactly what you are hoping for.
Mini sessions are less expensive.
If the photographer you love is out of your price range, a mini session is a great way to get a taste of what they offer without completely blowing your family budget. Remember to look for a photographer who's work you absolutely love over price shopping, so you will be happy with the final product.
Mini sessions give you the "best of the best" photos.
If you are looking for "just a couple really great shots" of the family, a mini session will give you exactly that. Typically a predetermined number of images is set to be included in the session fee, but be sure to read all the details of the mini session because each one may work differently!
