A year ago, when visiting our dear friends who had just brought home their first baby, I asked if they would mind if I took some photos of them - you can see one here. It was my first time photographing a newborn and family. I did not consider myself a professional photographer at the time, but I knew I wanted to, and my journey would need a beginning! Who better than to start it with than our two close friends, who happen to both be super attractive people, and their obviously adorable four-day-old baby boy.
Move forward a whole year - wow that went by fast! - and that tiny baby is now the sweetest on-the-move toddler! It meant the world to me that they wanted me to document this important milestone for their family with some summery lifestyle photos at the beach. In the past year I have learned a lot about how to use natural light, new ways of editing, family posing (and moreso un-posing), and overall how to take photographs that are more than just a snapshot. This session felt so meaningful to me. A special milestone for a family very close to my heart. And a session that marked one-year in my photography journey.
Enjoy these moments!
